Our focus for purposeful giving this month is Interfaith Hospitality Network of Warren County.

IHNWC was started in Oct of 1988 with a mission to assist homeless families to achieve sustainable independence through a community based response.  Families come into IHNWC without homes or hope.  With the help of partner churches like ours, when the family leaves, they have found housing, employment, education and daycare.  Mostly, they have found the love of God through the time and kindness of the volunteers of this program.

MPC has been apart of this program since January 2003.  Once a quarter, we have provided meals, hospitality and activities for these families.  To show love and encouragement to these families as they are seeking some sense of normalcy has a huge impact.  We have been blessed to have a group of volunteers provide the meal as well as break bread with the families and spend a little time with them.  We have painted pumpkins, played games, worked puzzles, had dance contest, read together and watched TV.  We have also been able to give little gifts of necessities to the families as well.

IHN also has Heaven and Hearth Ministry which is household furniture items for anyone in need.  Each family graduating from the program also receives everything needed for a memorable holiday season as well as school supplies for the year.  Run4home is an annual 5K fundraising event for this program that we have helped sponsor.

Through the generosity of this church we have helped to impact the lives of many of these families.  We are truly blessed!  Thanks be to God!
